Spent

Tate had the 2nd (of 6) chemotherapy injections this morning followed by an hour of observation.  He is still spent from the procedures and chemo he endured Tuesday, and today did not go well.  He woke up with a headache, the drive to the clinic made him nauseous, and the shots were more painful than normal.  Tate was so exhausted he declined to get out of his wheelchair for the 60-minutes of observation, choosing instead to fold himself over his pillow.  The effort of climbing onto the the exam table would have cost him more energy than he had to spare.

Tate’s day took a turn for the better when three of his cellist friends came over for a visit.  Hearing laughter coming from his room is such a relief.  I got to spend the evening chatting with a dear friend who arrived with my favorite pizza.

We’re lucky to have good people holding us up on bad days.  Thank you for your love, friendship, support, and food.
