Looking Good :)

Tate was discharged from the hospital this afternoon after a 13-day stay. He is so glad to be home – we all are. Some good things happened while he was hospitalized, and we hope the positive trend continues now that we’re home. Tate looks really good.

Maryjane Wilson had this shirt made into a port shirt for Tate. It’s perfect for him so many ways. Tate’s nurse said it was the best port shirt she had ever seen because of the message.
Violet is usually a difficult character to gauge, but today it was clear she was happy to have her Tate back.

I peeked into Tate’s room and found his cat Atticus at the foot of his bed. We have been keeping the cat out of Tate’s room for the last several weeks. There was an incident where the cat spazzed out over a bag of Skittles and scratched Tate’s leg. I think Tate went to our room and freed the cat; that’s the only thing explanation for all the doors being open in the back of the house.

Tate is enjoying a solid sleep for the first time in nearly two weeks. While he was in the hospital, the nurses woke him every four hours to give him antibiotics and take his vitals. We are so grateful to have our boy home, and he is glad to be in his own bed.

Tate will resume physical therapy tomorrow and occupational therapy Friday. The maintenance phase of treatment will begin once his blood work indicates he is strong enough. He has an appointment at the clinic next week, and we’ll find out whether he’s ready to begin maintenance.
