Tate Standing Tall
Tate’s last at-home occupational therapy appointment with Jen was Tuesday, and his last at-home physical therapy appointment with Janet was today. I cannot say enough how much these two have done for him. Tate has been their patient since August 2018 when his neuropathy and pain were so severe they landed him in the hospital for 11 days. When Jen and Janet came into Tate’s life, he couldn’t even sit up by himself, he could barely move his limbs, and his hands were curled up into fists and unusable. Thanks to their dedication, his onocologist adjusting treatment protocol, and Tate’s hard work, he is on his way to having a normal life again. His strength is returning, he can walk a little bit, and he is re-gaining full use of his hands.
Yesterday, Greg, Tate, and I visited Neuro & Brain Performance Centers, the facility where Tate’s occupational and physical therapy will continue, to meet with his therapist and have a look around. It seems like it will be a good place for Tate.
Tate’s new physical therapist’s name is Duane.
Comment
No way, with a name like Dwayne how can it not be a continued leap forward. These professionals that get him to a threshold and move in are special. Probably have a special place in their heart for Tate & other patients.
Tate said he thinks the new place will be great. I text back recommending that his next goal could be to drive his car to cello practice. Greg does such good research. The name of the place is impressive. My friends always ask about Tate and continue to pray for him and you, Greg Scott, me. Big job. Laundry day. I am enjoying our place. Weather is very cool. Wind blew yesterday so I was picking up branches thAt broke off.
Hugs! Thanks for the pics. Awesome. The PT looks super short next to Tate.
