Semester 3 at MCC

Things here are quiet and good; it’s a calm we’ve been in desperate need of. Tate started his third semester at Mesa Community College, and much like last semester, his spirits are lifted with having something to do – even if it’s learn Calculus 3. His cough is nearly gone, and he’s back to working out three days per week at home. We have not attempted to take him back to the physical therapy clinic yet because there’s a sign on the front door instructing anyone with a cough not to enter. Understandable! These are weird, weird times.

The super good wonderful news is that Tate is walking without his cane again! He still feels some pain, but he’s steady enough to move around without it. YAYYY! I couldn’t tell whether Greg was holding back tears of joy or trying not to let out a victory roar when he realized Tate went out the front door for walk and left his cane in his room. It was definitely a victory roar caliber moment. It was also such a happy thing it could made a person emotional. I’m not entirely sure what was going on at his end of the couch.

Sunday night cookie delivery from the Wilsons. With no cane, Tate can carry double the cookies!

Tate’s next chemotherapy appointment is February 9th. We’re hoping – gritted teeth and fingers crossed – that he has two weeks of feeling good ahead of him before that day.

Flowers this week came out a little weird. Maybe I’ll just get tulips or something next week. You can’t go wrong with tulips.
