Easy Peasy
Today was Tate’s fastest, easiest appointment to date. The exam with the oncologist went well; he is cleared for the lumbar puncture and chemo tomorrow morning, and his blood work showed his hemoglobin, platelets, and ANC are pretty strong (for him).
The only concerning news from today’s appointment is that Tate has lost 6.5 pounds. Hearing this inspired him to eat a big lunch even though he knew it would leave him aching. Tate sent Greg’s mom, Spicy Grandma, on a mission to the Asian market to pick up a #52 with extra rice and extra chili sauce. He ate the entire thing!
Tate got his three shots and then hid from the light and possibly my camera under his new red blanket. He is very long for that table but insists it is more comfortable to lay like this than to pull out the shelf-like extension for his feet.
We are so grateful for today. Tate has had months of exhausting appointments; it was nice to have a simple one where everything went right and we weren’t trying to sort out solutions to new symptoms and problems.

Oh, I so love this post. Two positive posts in one week. And that smile with Atticus. Behind that is a Mother who is giving it her all to help her son heal; ignoring the allergies and sleeping with the cat.
Going to mass this morning to give thanks and ask for more good/great news, of course.
Hurrah.
Blessing for an easy appointment day. Small steps on the way to better days. Always have you in our thoughts and prayers.
