Chemo May 2020
Tate’s appointment went well yesterday. His ANC is 1360, and his hemoglobin and platelets are at a good level, too. They did some X-rays on his back since he’s still experiencing some pain, and the results were normal. There is no explanation for how Tate got hurt last month. Greg’s comment was that he thinks Tate “might have weird physical things the rest of his life from all this.” And as if to prove him right, Tate limped in and said his right hip joint hurts but that nothing had happened to injure it.
Tate got his Vincristine and started his 5-day steroid pulse yesterday. Everyone in the clinic that saw him was surprised at how skinny he looks. I have been thinking the same thing about him, but his weight actually went up by 1 pound. This guy, he just keeps us guessing.
Tate is miserable today and will be for the next week. The Vincristine hits him hard every time, and from what I hear the steroids are bad for everyone. I just checked on him, and he is working on his laptop to finish out the semester strong even though he doesn’t feel like it.
We’re all doing fine. Both Greg and the old dog have recovered from their individual maladies, and Scott seems to be hanging in there.
Good news all around and a picture of Tate smiling. Although, I have to think that when Tate is off chemo he is going to turn into super man. In a way he already has dealing with all of this. Heal Tate Heal!
I have just the you-tube video for Tate. Supplies required to make it are cardboard & glue. Perfect project for an engineer. I’ll email it to him.
It is a Pringle Dispenser.
Love Y’all
