2019 Wheelchair Easter Egg Rumble
Easter was pretty silly at our house.
My mom brought over ham, hash browns, and mimosa ingredients (so basically everything), and we had a late, leisurely brunch. Scott and Tate pulled bottles of ridiculously spicy hot sauce from the fridge, and we tried them all, not stopping until until, eyes watering and mouths burning, we just couldn’t take any more. Greg’s mom arrived from Florida today, and spent the afternoon with us. Scott and Tate made her try all the hot sauce flavors, too.
Tate feels best in the evening, so that’s when we held our Easter egg hunt. Yes, even though our sons are 17 and 19 we still hide eggs. But these are no ordinary Easter activities! In past years we have done scavenger hunts, obstacle courses, and hidden their baskets in complicated locations. This year we knew we needed to do something fun because it has been a little sad at our house.
We scattered confetti eggs and plastic eggs filled with candy in the cul-de-sac and set the boys loose. To even the playing field, we had Scott use a wheelchair, too. It was hilarious. They raced around collecting candy and throwing the confetti eggs at each other. Tate may have cancer and a broken foot, but that did not make him any less competitive. And Scott didn’t give him a head start or anything. It was just brothers being brothers.
Happy Easter from our family to yours!
